We are delighted to announce two of our upcoming workshops, the first ones to be held in our newly renovated premises at Cremorne.
Saturday 11th May, 2019
Exploring dyes & pigments with Lynne Britton
Lynne will be working with us using dyes to colour both paper and pulp. We currently have a range of dyes and colorants in the studio to experiment with, and she will also discuss other brands and products we can use to best effect on paper.
As owner of Batik Oetoro in Gatehead (a suburb of Newcastle, NSW), Lynne has a long background working with dyes and has a deep level of knowledge and experience. So if you’ve never coloured paper or if your results haven’t been what you expected then this might be a great opportunity to acquire some new skills.
Saturday 8th June, 2019
Colour, Composition & Collage with Claire Brach
Whilst in the earlier workshop Lynne concentrates on how to successfully apply colour to paper and pulp this workshop takes you into the world of decision-making; how colours react together, how colour perceptions affect us and how to choose what to use and what to leave out.
Together with Claire we will then take this further by looking at both composition in art and that most subjective of areas; collage.
Guaranteed to be a fun day with lots of interactive exercises, you will leave with a resource folder full of samples that you can refer back to as you work on your own pieces in the future.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Primrose Park Arts & Craft Centre soon.
