The Wooden Haus is an artist studio in Medlow Bath. It is principally a works-on-paper studio nestled in a bushland setting that aims at providing professional workshops for the community.
The manager, Linda Swinfield, is an artist and art coach who taught at TAFE for 18 years in Newcastle, Western Institute and Foster. As a contemporary artist who constructs visual narratives within her work, she incorporates elements of family history, social histories, landscape and flux.
Linda is a multi-disciplinary artist traversing a variety of media including printmaking, drawing, photographic traditions and digital media. Her art making sits at the intersection between figuration and abstraction and she is currently using three-dimensional printmaking techniques.
Over the past twelve months she has begun teaching art workshops, recent ones being Drawing for Everyone and Introduction to contemporary printmaking. Coming up over the next few months she is offering Art Journals:getting started and Experimental aluminium etching. Click here if you are interested in finding out more about her workshops.
She also regularly writes a blog covering many of her (and her student’s) art journeys. Click here to view her art posts.
