Kate Alarcon: Paper Flower Concepts

Using primarily European crepe paper in various weights this Seattle-based artist creates lifelike flowers and plants.

Her website, The Cobra Lily, contains a mass of exquisite blooms from around the world, including this stunning King Protea.

For those of you on Instagram she also shares her work there, and it was lovely to see the components of her flowers before, during and after assembly into the finished products.

The faq page of her site has a couple of interesting ‘frequently asked questions’ which is worth reading if you own paper flowers, as she covers dusting/cleaning paper flowers and how long they can be expected to last with careful handling.
