Well we are heading for the end of an era with the closure of the Primrose Park Art & Craft Centre for renovations.
All our equipment and materials have been packed up ready for going into storage.
A big thank you to all those who have come down and helped to pack up. A special thank you to Harriett for work on the beater. We had a great team there recently for the “social” day – with an emphasis on the term “team” because everybody worked so well together, sharing jobs, helping each other, and getting an incredible amount of work done. Thank you Mandy, Janet, Jeanette, Brenda and Helen.
The biggest, hugest thank you to our own Wonder Woman – Jill (Elias).
Jill has spent most days over several weeks at the studio preparing for a workshop and helping to pack up the stuff. Through sunshine and pouring rain Jill has been collecting, cooking, cutting, washing and beating morning-glory, ginger lily, and various other weeds to prepare lots of pulp – and then she ran the workshop for 17 newcomers to papermaking (thanks also go to Mandy for helping). Everyone was very pleased with the workshop – of course !!! And in between doing all that she was packing boxes and helping clear up the studio.
We don’t know when we’ll be moving back in but we’ll continue to hold our social days and the other planned activities so keep those dates in your diary (members and guests). We’ll post updates as we get news about the works.
Workshop photos coming soon.
