The Art of Joomchi

with Jiyoung Chung

This is an interesting video showing some of the basics regarding the Korean system of layering and fusing papers known as Joomchi.  Not really a 100% how-to, so you can’t produce your own designs from it but it does give a reasonable overview.

with PJ Bergin

Another artist using Joomchi extensively is PJ Bergin and her website, Studio 126,  is an interesting place to spend some time wandering through.  She describes the attributes of mulberry paper and its role in Joomchi in the video below.  Other videos feature on her website.

If you are interested in Joomchi there are plenty of youtube videos and how-to tutorials on-line. Just google the name.
